First Bus powers up with launch of ‘First Charge’

First Transit awarded City of Visalia contract

VISALIA, Calif. – First Transit, a leader in providing mobility solutions, announces that the company has been awarded a contract with the City of Visalia for all fixed-route and paratransit operations.

 

First Transit will provide day-to-day operations and oversight for 87 vehicles, employing 130. First Transit is also responsible for all maintenance of the fleet, plus three new battery-powered all-electric buses.

 

“We’re proud to become a part of the community,” said Fadi Chakbazof, senior vice president for the west region of First Transit. “We look forward to providing a vital service to the citizens of Visalia getting them to and from work and other activities.”

 

In addition to regular operations, First Transit will support express V-LINE service to Fresno, California, and seasonal shuttle service to Sequoia National Park.
